A discussion debating the Right to Refuse took place on Friday's night in Kibbutz Givat Ha'Shlosha. The debate had been organized by Courage to Refuse following a cancellation of a similar event in Kibbutz Kfar Masarik. Nearly 200 people attended the event, during which a panel of speakers argued for and against the selective refusal. The panel included MK Avshalom (Abu) Vilan of the left wing party MERETZ-YACHAD, Shulamit Aloni - a former MK, minister and head of MERETZ, Brigadier General (reserve) Yiftach Spector - a signer of the Pilots' Letter, Staff Sergeant (reserve) Zohar Shapira - a signer of the MATKAL commando unit combatant's letter and Lieutenant (reserve) Noam Livne of Courage to Refuse.
The debate focused on questions as the political aspect of the refusal vis-à-vis a refusal representing a personal conscientious decision, the difference between refusal to serve in occupied land and refusal to evacuate settlements, and the major issue of the refusal's affect on democracy.

After the discussion, a popular rock group gave a performance as a tribute to the refuseniks.
